As a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, I am no stranger to the intense growth and development of the real estate market. My formative years were spent watching the property listings cycle through on channel 2, grabbing every flyer from every brochure box in the neighborhood, and exploring the houses under construction behind my street. My first love was all things houses, design, and architecture.
Later, I would discover another passion – water. I spent countless hours in pools, lakes, rivers, and the ocean. I became a lifeguard at 16, launching my 15-year career in aquatics. I was a swim instructor, coach, and supervisor. After graduating from North Carolina State University, I was presented with the opportunity to take the next step as a full-time aquatics professional.
I started my professional journey as part of the opening team for Raleigh’s newest aquatic center, where a top-notch customer experience was our #1 goal. As a new center, there was only one chance of making a positive first impression. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive, and the new center rapidly became one of Raleigh’s top destinations, drawing crowds from across North Carolina.
There I developed course programming, customer service policies, group rental programs, and marketing. Additionally, I filled the role of instructor and trainer for the center. I have taught numerous courses and certified hundreds of individuals. A career highlight for me is holding some of the most prestigious water safety and professional rescuer instructor certifications available. I am also a proud Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Recreation and Park Association.
I was approached to be the director of one of the underperforming centers. As the pandemic raged through, I built a team and a plan. I recruited, trained, borrowed, and spent more time in the lifeguard chair than I had in years. I met the area residents and stakeholders. I tailored the experience to the needs and wants of the community. I brought this center up from the bottom rank into one of the top performers of the 2020 season. I was privileged to lead this center again for an even more successful 2021 season. This had been my 16th career summer.
I joined MEC as Operations Assistant after searching for a way to merge my first passion for real estate with my customer-centric operational focus. I thoroughly enjoy working in operations and I am excited to bring my experience to a rapidly growing company. I love the company culture and the values Middleton Elite Coaching upholds. The time and consideration taken by MEC is something special and I am honored to be a part of the team.
My amazing fiancée, Sara, and I recently moved to the, NC Raleigh suburbs with our dogs, Hudson and Hero. If we’re not out on the local trails with our pups, you can find us trying not to binge on Netflix, working on DIY projects, gardening, and exploring locally-owned restaurants.
