SEAN GOERSS
Business Coach
I was born into a real estate family. I remember MLS books arriving at my Parents’ office and lugging them up and down the stairs every month. I started working with CRMs in 1991 by entering contacts from my Mom’s Rolodex into Top Producer. I guess you can say I’ve been a “real estate techie” for 30+ years.
I swore I’d never get into real estate. So much for that. 🙂
There are three important things to know about me:
1. I love helping people on their journey.
2. I take joy in constant improvement.
3. I am direct and honest.
My commitment to never get into real estate didn’t last very long. After college, I spent 1.5 years at Enterprise Rental Cars where I learned hard work, door-to-door sales, and profitability. Ultimately, I figured that if I was going to work 70-80 hours per week, I might as well do that in a business where I was fully rewarded for my hard work.
In 2003, when I approached my Parents about getting into real estate, my Mom told me:
You have to start by being my assistant for 3 months. If you still like it after 3 months of being on the inside, then you can work your way up in the business.
By the age of 28, I’d done everything you could imagine in a real estate office… buyers agent, listing agent, lead agent, recruiter, emptied the trash, and cleaned the toilets.
Fast forward to 2011, and we’d grown the Team TO #1 in Minnesota – a position we held for 4 consecutive years, including being one of the Top 100 Teams in the world for Keller Williams Realty.
In 2013, I began expanding our Team throughout Minneapolis/St. Paul area. During that time, I further realized the importance of the fundamentals of business. We stayed focused on improving the things that we could control. Iterating. Simplifying. Layering. Lead Generating for Talent.
By 2015, members of my Board of Advisors helped me discover that the recipe that we had created was strikingly similar to a franchise. From that discovery, I founded the first franchised real estate team in the world, 14 Moves.
From 2015 – 2019, we grew 14 Moves to 7 locations and 54 agents across 5 states. In 2019, we closed 464 units for $172M in sales volume and $4.83M in revenue. We were recognized as the #13 Team in Keller Williams Realty and the #31 Team in the Country across All Brokerages, according to REALTrends.
During my time building 14 Moves, I also further followed my passion for Coaching and Developing people. As part of KW MAPS Coaching, I completed over 1,100 hours of 1-on-1 coaching in addition to the 1,500+ hours of 1-on-1 coaching with members of 14 Moves.

Today, I am a real estate agent, coach, trainer, speaker, and most recently a Co-Founder of Thrive Network, one of the top organizations at eXp Realty brokerage, with nearly 1,800 agents in our Network.
I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Middleton Elite Coaching team and helping so many high-performing teams, agents, and individuals. I’ve gained perspective to understand that we are all going through things in our personal and professional lives that may impact our businesses. Having the ability to make our businesses work for, fund, and serve our lives is paramount. Seeing these transformative moments in the businesses of my clients has been a joy to watch.
I look forward to continuing my focus on helping Agents and Brokers build big businesses and enjoy the journey.
My wife, Maren, our four children, and I live in Minneapolis where we enjoy homeschooling, spending time with family, traveling, and all things techie.
