The best real estate agents and real estate teams are inspired by success.
“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” – Henry Ford
Aligning the goals of your team is essential to your growth. With the obvious stated, we ask ourselves two questions:
- Are the goals of my team aligned?
- Does my team currently have the bandwidth to accomplish these goals?
Set your sights on having the right people in the right roles, operating with goals that align with the rest of the team.
Leading and Motivating Your Team to Success
There are many ways to motivate and lead your team to success, and the most effective method for motivation is not through short-term carrots and sticks.
I recently wrote about the summation of goals, and the importance of motivating by first understanding WHAT is important to your team members, and then WHY it is important to them.
More on this topic in the short video here
If you can help your individual team members clearly define their goals, you can then clearly define the goals of your team. This is an alignment path at work.
You may find that your current team is equipped to achieve these goals, but their roles and job tasks require some minor adjustment.
Enter the Three Columns Exercise.
Three Columns Exercise
We use the Three Columns Exercise with the teams we coach to make sure they are spending 80% or more of their time enjoying their roles.
By asking team members to list out the tasks that they enjoy and are good at, team members can focus on working in their strengths. This promotes high job satisfaction.
Watch our short video on Tasks and the Three Columns Exercise, which is step 3 in our 6-part mini-series on The 4 Points of Retention.
Team Bandwidth
With the summation of goals clearly defined and your team members intrinsically motivated in the pursuit of these goals, do you have the right people, or even enough of the right people in place to achieve success?
Your aligned growth plan requires the addition of fresh talent to your team…. or does it?
Cue the Bandwidth Exercise.
Once you have given each member of your team a bandwidth score on a scale of 1-100, and you have checked all 4 boxes:
- Skills
- Time
- Systems
- Efficiency

Hiring Top-Level Talent
Hiring is a pain point for many organizations and the process of recruiting can be quite involved and costly.
It is important to assess the needs of your business both right now, as well as into the future. Doing so will provide an insight as to how to scale your team and make sure you’re doing so the smartest way possible.
We coach our clients on hiring, recruiting, and retaining the right people for their organizations. It is important to establish a foundational level of trust with the right, albeit qualified, people for continued success.
In our recently published Elite Guide, (there’s one for Business Planning and one for Listings….and it’s okay to get excited!) we cover the steps for recruiting the right team members from the job ad to the final interview, and beyond.
We provide sample hiring checklists, interview questions, and additional resources to guide you along the way.

A Final Thought…
Inspiring your team to succeed is paramount for collective longevity and happiness.
-How will you help your team win?
–Are you on your victory path?
If you’re not sure, ask yourself – what tools and systems can I put in place to get there?
Let’s get started, together!
